My Name Is Jayme

I am a non-indigenous native of Colorado Springs. My permaculture journey began during a year when I was tired of paying an excessive amount of money and resources to heat my home in the winter. I began to research ways to use less energy. The subsequent searches eventually led me to discover permaculture. That is where my life changed…..and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I work closely with Pikes Peak Permaculture as the program director and course convener, organizing and co-running all our course offerings in the region. I hold 6 permaculture design certifications, and 2 advanced certifications as well as my Permaculture Teacher Training Certification. I have been a participant in many workshops from natural building, to designing and installing drip irrigation systems. In 2020 I completed the Soil Food Web School foundation courses. I believe that learning and practicing are the key to successful integration of information.

Teaching others what I have learned and practice is my passion and my favorite moments are when I have a student or client light up when they grasp onto a concept that was foreign to them. In 2024 I was awarded the El Paso County Conservation District – Conservation Educator of the Year. This award was up-voted to the State level with the Colorado Association of Conservation Districts for CACD Educator of the Year which is still pending.
